Washington DC 8th grade Trip
Dear parent,
We are currently planning an educational 8th grade class trip to Washington DC in June of 2012. This trip will be an excellent chance for your child to experience our nation’s history in person! This is NOT a school sponsored trip and there is a fee for this trip if you decide you would like your child to attend.
We are working with Smithsonian Student Travel to plan our trip. It is all-inclusive and the package includes: round-trip transportation, hotel accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, a full-time Smithsonian Student Travel tour director, air-conditioned motor coach, sightseeing tours led by a licensed guide, visits to special attractions, overnight security, educational materials developed by the Smithsonian and a Smithsonian membership. Smithsonian Student Travel is the domestic travel division of EF Education First, a company with 45 years of experience in educational travel and the world’s largest private educational organization. They combine the educational resources of the Smithsonian with the travel expertise of EF.
We held our first informational meeting this past week. We understand sometimes more time is needed to make a big decision like this. If you are seriously thinking about it, you would have up until December 16th, of this year to decide, however your monthly payments will be increased. We are also working on fundraising to help defray the cost of the trip.
